It ran 40 job-seeking centres with a team of 86, gave job-readiness and life-skills support to more than 20,000 job seekers a year, and placed an average of 250 people into work every month. The same funder also backed a 50-learner Systems Development learnership.
Youth skills centre
Ran a provincially funded youth development centre with a budget of about R12.48 million a year, from the funding proposal and panel presentation through to learner registration and certification. More than 1,000 artisan learners were trained, with over half placed into work experience in their trades, and more than 500 learners completed International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) computer training. The centre also served young people recovering from substance abuse, leaving foster care or in conflict with the law.
