Skills

Skills programme management

For companies with learnership, apprenticeship, work-integrated learning (WIL) or Youth Employment Service (YES) commitments, and the training providers that deliver them.

We set up and run programmes so learners stay, finish and find work, and so the paperwork is ready when your verification agency asks for it. We can run a whole programme, step in to fix one that is struggling, or review your files before verification.

  • Programme design and implementation plans
  • Working with training providers and host employers
  • Learner selection, tracking and drop-out prevention
  • Attendance, stipend and placement records
  • Evidence files ready for verification
  • Learner registration with the Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs) and the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO)
Funding

Funding readiness and grant management

For non-profit companies (NPCs), non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and training providers applying to the Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs), the National Skills Fund, the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), provincial departments, foundations and donors.

We help you put together a strong application and then manage the grant properly once it is awarded, so tranches arrive on time and the funder is happy to work with you again.

  • A check of whether you are ready to apply
  • Proposals, budgets and implementation plans
  • Milestones set up from the funding agreement
  • Progress, tranche and close-out reports
  • Simple dashboards for funders and boards
  • Grant compliance reviews
Governance

Governance and audit readiness

For small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), non-profit companies, community and development trusts, and businesses in enterprise and supplier development programmes.

We put in place the controls, policies and reporting that boards, funders, auditors and corporate buyers expect, sized to your organisation so your team can keep them running. We also help new organisations start out properly, with the registrations, policies and basic systems in place from day one.

  • A review of your governance and internal controls
  • Policies, procedures and delegations of authority
  • Risk registers and compliance calendars
  • Board and funder reporting packs
  • Training for boards and trustees
  • Preparing for audits and fixing past findings
  • Setting up new organisations: company registration, a POPIA privacy notice, business email, domain and website, and a compliance calendar
Also available

Training centre accreditation

For companies and non-profit companies setting up their own accredited training centre.

Our founder has guided a corporate training institution through Sector Education and Training Authority accreditation, and we can take you through the same process, from application to your first certified learners.

  • Accreditation applications and site readiness
  • Quality management systems
  • Learner registration and certification
  • Ongoing compliance and re-accreditation
Working together

How an engagement usually runs

A free call first. Thirty minutes to talk about your targets, your funding and what is not working. If we are not the right fit, we will say so.

Then a fixed-price diagnostic. One to two weeks reviewing your programme, grant or controls, ending in a short report and a list of fixes in order of priority.

Then delivery, if you want it. We fix or run things alongside your team, with a monthly report you can hand to your board or funder. This can be a set project or a monthly retainer.

Extra capacity for providers and consultancies. We also take on associate and subcontract work when you have more programmes than people.

If your programme, grant or board pack is keeping you up at night, we would be glad to talk it through.
